The question: Is our Food Slowly Killing Us?
Well we all know in 2025 that food prices has increased dramatically and the companies whom supply our food supply has record profits. So are these food companies slowly killing us?
I’m based in Vancouver, BC Canada and in the last year or so I am shocked how much our food supply has increased their prices to consumers claiming supply chains etc. So what is happening.
First when basic needs like water food and shelter become highly profitable to ‘companies’ then the basic individual has to pay and we are paying not only in dollars but in our health.
I have always found it so sad that if I purchase organic produce that I have to pay more not to poison my family. Seriously that is how I view this.
Corporations own our food supply and you can purchase their average food or pay extra for the organic food. So average food is full of chemicals and organic is from nature. Isn’t nature suppose to be for all living creatures to enjoy together and when did we put a $ amount on nature?
Since Crazy Orange Man down south he has changed the rules about food exported to Canada. All our fruits and vegetables from the USA has been sprayed with forever chemicals so they look good but as for nutrition very low low low. And meat that you think is okay from these large retailers – we have no idea where our meat comes from who knows and it is in sealed plastic.
So you wonder why you are so sick – low energy, mind wandering, extra weight around the middle and my favourite skin issues. I see so many skin issues and that is from the chemicals on our food.
I can continuing writing about all the problems with our food chain so I can just move onto how to solve this problem.
To solve our food problem is quite simple yet the hardest part is changing your system on how to purchase, store and consume food.
Purchase Canadian products only and many of us as doing that since the situation with the Orange Man down south. Many of us Canadians are purchasing Canada only that is the first step.
The next step is purchasing finished products from your own province – ie coffee beans that are roasted and packaged in BC or nuts packaged in your home province. Why – so less plastic transfer within the package due to travelling long distances.
Purchase within your area for fresh fruits and vegetables and yes Farmers Markets are amazing but pricey but why not odd bunches of fruits and veggies from smaller local mom and pop stores than the big box stores.
Stop using plastic bags and purchasing fruits and veggies in plastic baskets – use paper or nothing. The plastic in warm heat starts to penetrate into the fruits and vegetables and this is particularly serious with Mushrooms as mushrooms consume plastic and then you eat those mushrooms – gross.
I personally use glass jars to store all my food.
Never purchase more than 2-3 days worth of fruits and vegetables and only purchase what you will be using. Therefore you need to make meal plans every week to help with your budget and food waste.
And last wash everything – not just with water but use vinegar or baking soda to get rid of bugs, dirt and everything that might be on your produce.
To help the local economy purchase from local small businesses and in cash. You cannot write off your food bills and the government does not need to know what you are purchasing or consuming.
Last – read your ingredients – many people would say don’t eat processed foods but we have passed that point since we now have bread with 19 ingredients – what the fuck? 19 ingredients and half of them I have no idea what they are since companies can use special wording to mask the real name. So if bread which is made from 4 ingredients can now have 19 ingredients I think we have a problem.
To start eating right comes from educating yourself and no one is going to teach you – you have to take the time to learn what is best for your body – it takes time.
Hey this is my blog and my opinion.
